When it comes to affiliate marketing and having the ability to earn money online at home, there is one skill you will need above anything else . . . writing. That’s right. Regardless of what the gurus say, if you don’t have money to hire a team of ghostwriters, you’re going to have to write a lot of content before you can expect to retire with Internet marketing.
Now, for many Americans, writing is either something academic or creative. They don’t put as much value with normal, everyday writing, (like the type of writing you do when you’re emailing someone). Yet, what about the affiliate that truly has a passion for creative writing? Can they actually make money using poetry or short stories as their content? It depends on the perspective they take. If they are really creative, they can actually create content that satisfies their imagination while getting good Google rankings. If their poem incorporates high-demand, low-competition keywords, it is possible they could still earn money online at home with it and make decent sales.
On the other hand, they could use a different approach . . . writing whatever they want on their main website while promoting products or services that are interesting to that market. From there, they would write general SEO articles to try and drive traffic to their site.
To get a better understanding, consider a scenario where an affiliate marketer created a website showcasing a fantasy novel they’re working on. Any ads placed on the site would relate to things fantasy-readers would be interested in, whether they are other fantasy novels, movies or role-playing games.
When their site is complete, the marketer would promote it by submitting content to Ezine Articles or any other article directory. This content would contain keywords that would attract fantasy readers. Over time, even though the website itself is not SEO, the marketer would still earn money online at home with it because their Ezines were. So, basically, the content serves as a springboard for getting exposure to your ads.
In conclusion, creative writing can be integrated with a successful affiliate marketing campaign . . . you just have to think outside the box more. You may also need greater patience, since hobby sites usually need more traffic before webmasters see a conversion. But, if you stick with everything despite the frustrations you will not only get commissions but another reward; being able to earn money online at home while sharing your creative work with the public.
